WSP USA Lead Water Resources Engineer in Annapolis, Maryland

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Water Resources Engineer for our Annapolis, MD office. The following locations will also be considered: Baltimore, MD . Your Impact

  • Manage water/wastewater projects from scope development to final construction and close-out.

  • Coordinate, review and approve design plans, ensuring data integrity and work is compliant with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.

  • Coordinate and provide oversight on project construction including ensuring compliance with the contract documents and with all applicable codes and regulations.

  • Permitting, public participation, and coordinating/interacting with regulatory agencies and clients in a confident and professional manner.

  • Oversee and monitor teams in executing projects including project budgets, tracking hours and expenses, and task completion.

  • Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide innovative and future ready solutions for clients.

  • Remain current in Anne Arundel County DPW policies, standards and engineering techniques for water/wastewater projects.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering or closely related discipline.

  • 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in the A/E/C industry with a technical client-facing background in the water resources sector.

  • Experience in water/wastewater design and project management.

  • The ability to manage several projects concurrently, provide senior-level input and evaluation on projects.

  • Proficient knowledge of related engineering principles, practices, process, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.

  • Well-defined knowledge of water/wastewater conveyance and/or treatment design and project development.

  • Experience with project and client development/relationship management.

  • Proficient ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.

  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

  • Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership other project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.

  • Proficient understanding of and experience with project management software tools for project delivery including project scheduling and budgeting tools, project collaboration software, and ArcGIS software.

  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills .

  • Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing consultants and subconsultants to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineering license, Project Management Professional certification or similar certifications or ability to get licensure/certification in the next 6-12 months, is highly preferred.

  • Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement are highly desirable#LI-MC4
