WSP USA Early Career Mechanical Engineer in Arlington, Virginia
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for Early Career Mechanical Engineers for our Arlington, Virginia office. Be involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
You will work with a team of experienced engineers with great mentorship skills and exciting projects in the field of building construction, including HVAC, Plumbing, Lighting, Fire Protection, and Power Distribution Systems.
Your Impact
Complete training and support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Learn basic principles of design in your discipline of engineering.
Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, architectural, or related engineering degree.
0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent graduate or May 2024 Graduate in an accredited mechanical or architectural engineering program, or related Undergraduate or Graduate program.
Experience using Revit, AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
