WSP is currently initiating a search for a Associate Controls Specialist for our Augusta ME .

The prime function and basic objective of this position is to work with the Project Controls Group to prepare detailed schedules and cost loaded schedules required for Capital work being performed for construction of major company electric, gas, transmission, facilities, environmental remediation as well as commercial buildings and yards.

Accountabilities / Duties / Responsibilities

Assist Project Manager Project Controls in the preparation of analysis regarding resources, earned value management and group performance and performs other tasks as required.

Job Requirements

Education Professional Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Construction Management

  • PMP Preferred but not required or PSP (AACEI)

Years of Experience: 3 Description of Professional Experiance: Experienced scheduler with at least 3-years documented work experience scheduling major multi-million dollar projects. Experience implementing new project/program management processes and systems in a construction, electric and gas utility environment. Broad engineering experience preferred in the electric and gas utility industry and knowledge of best practices across the utility. Experience with all other common scheduling platforms through which contractors or others may submit schedules to be converted to P6. Preferred experience with estimating platforms and work breakdown structuring for cost loaded scheduling. Experience with various Risk Management approaches and methodologies. Familiarity with Unifier software or similar. Experience in reviewing and assimilating design, project management and construction management of electric and gas T&D infrastructure. Integration and further development of a Business Project Management Office (BPMO)

Technical Skills

Candidates should be trained in the construction scheduling software Oracle Primavera P6 Scheduling, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. Knowledge of construction methods, practices, procedures, and contracts. Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications required. Extensive knowledge of construction methods, practices, procedures, and contracts. Ability to learn and use the Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Publisher, Oracle EBS, and Work Management systems for developing, analyzing, and presenting construction cost loaded schedules. All candidates must have excellent knowledge in Earned Value Management (EVM), Risk Management concepts and application. Proven ability to drive improvement in on-time, on-budget project delivery, while maximizing utility rate recovery. Working knowledge of the Primavera P6 Suite and Oracle based software’s and utilities.
