WSP USA Lead Specialist, Transit and Rail Inspection in Baltimore, Maryland

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full Time Lead Specialist, Transit and Rail Inspection for our, Baltimore office at 1 East Pratt Street.

Your Impact

  • Perform weekly track inspections of all rail components

  • Develop and write the Scopes of Work

  • Field verifying track defects and repairs made in the right of way

  • Weekly/monthly review of System Maintenance, Railcar Maintenance, Track Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance and Catenary Maintenance for preventive maintenance compliance.

  • Identify and monitor new developments in transit track and way, structure and inspection management operations and system maintenance activities.

  • Develop, review and recommend changes to rail related policies and procedures

  • Ensure projects are completed to the clients track standards or 49 CRF 213.

  • Recommend creative solutions and use analytical techniques to solve complex technical problems

  • Travel to customer sites to gain an understanding of project requirements

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in transit rail inspection, maintenance and/or operations

  • Knowledge of 49 CFR 213, FTA Transit Rail guidelines, APTA transit rail industry best practices, & AREMA Practical Guide to Railway Engineering

  • Proficient in MS Office suite, Email, Internet

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Maximo (Asset Management Software)

  • Knowledge of and the ability to navigate in OpTram (Linear Asset Management Software)

  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply Roadway Worker Protection rules and procedures when accessing the right of way#LI-MC4
