WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Office Engineer I for our Chicago office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide limited office management of a construction management project
Review and update schedules and record drawings
Assist with processing contractor pay estimates
Communicate comments with P6 schedule updates to contractors
Keep logs of contract documents and review inspection reports
Take meeting minutes and maintain filing system
Assist PM and RE in drafting correspondence and change order responses
Assist project closeouts
Read, understand, and interpret project plans and contract documents. Identify possible problems in contract documents and propose solutions or refer them to the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager or Resident Engineer as appropriate.

BSCE degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a directly-related field.
Proficiency with P6 and MS Office Suite
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Transit/Rail project experience
Experience with office engineering duties on large construction projects
