WSP USA Process Integration Engineer in Chicago, Illinois
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Process Integration Engineer for our Chicago, IL office . Provides leadership within a sector of organization to ensure chemical engineering subject matter, technical deliverables, and programs are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry and company standards. Responsible for SME innovation and administration; ensuring corporate compliance with all Local, State, and Federal environmental and safety regulations; and providing pragmatic direction to address current and future engineering challenges in a rapidly-changing and complex business climate.
What You’ll Do:
Establish, grow, and lead a process integration engineering practice in the WSP West Region as an expansion of the current team in Atlanta. This includes establishing and executing recruitment and retention strategies, establishing team culture, and aligning team goals with overall WSP strategic initiatives.
Cultivate new clients and project opportunities with national practice leader and district/Local business line leaders.
Expand knowledge to existing engineers who are good candidates to work in the Advanced Manufacturing and industrial process team providing leadership and mentorship.
Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the engineering discipline and function offering direction, expertise, and support to ensure project and work site deliverables are successfully achieved within the business sector.
Perform engineering review of permit applications engineering design plan and specifications standby plan and engineering contracts, user requirements specification and periodic construction inspections to ensure that they Comply with applicable state and federal regulations (GMPs) and sound engineering practice.
Oversee the design, equipment selection, construction management, and operation support of plant processes
Lead larger scale more complex engineering projects ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, monitor external event, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring satisfactory performance, and supervising subcontractors, contact work and employees.
Meet with various public or private entities and individuals to discuss issues relating to a variety of process engineering programs.
Actively foster compliance with applicable Federal State and Local environmental laws, policies, and regulatory requirements
Ensure that engineering discipline certifications, accreditation, and value propositions is developed and continuously improved.
Conduct needs analysis and client value survey to align the engineering disciplines function with business and project strategy, identifying and addressing any skill gaps or risks withing the sector business operations.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company finds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are:
A trusted Leader, Mentor, Facilitator, and Colleague.
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or closely related discipline.
12+ years of relevant post education experience in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Engineering License preferred.
Advanced Proficiency with Chemical Engineering principles, practices, process, design/Build, Standard of Care, and the application to permitting and project work related issues.
Strong working knowledge of relevant engineering laws regulations compliance practices and record keeping requirements. And the business impact upon the organization.
Advanced proficiency with making technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understand plans and specifications and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to midlevel to senior level team or project members with strict adherence to QA/QC
