Your Impact

  • Critical advisory services to our recovery clients and lead a small team.

  • Serving as a hands-on project manager over several disaster recovery projects simultaneously.

  • Managing internal project teams and advising government clients on complex FEMA PA eligibility policy related to large-scale projects related to all hazards recovery.

  • Leveraging a deep understanding of the FEMA PA Program as a subject matter expert.

  • Reconcile project costs, public insurance, perform audit preparation and project closure processes.

  • Act as a liaison for the client with FEMA, State and other Grantors.

  • Support Business Development activities including proposal writing, pre- positioning, and pipeline development and planning.

  • Represent WSP at industry/trade association events and meetings.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business or similar/related concentration.

  • 7+ years of experience working on FEMA Recovery Programs.

  • Experience with systems such as FEMA Portal, FEMA GO, EMMIE, Other Grants Portal software such as GMS, EM Grants.

  • Ability to technically write to FEMA and other Grant Funded RFPs and RFQs.

  • Due to client requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. The selected candidate must undergo a pre-employment drug screening. As a contractor to FEMA, we require all selected candidates to undergo a criminal background investigation and fingerprint analysis. Only candidates who rate favorably will be selected for employment.

  • Prior hands-on experience related to hurricane recovery, such as FEMA PA Category A-G projects.

  • A strong policy background in the FEMA Recovery Program.

  • High competency in written communication, including the ability to create nuanced/policy complex recommendation documents.

  • Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to present verbally to high level stakeholders.

  • Previous experience managing workload for a team of Emergency Management professionals.

  • Experience managing projects of various sizes, including developing a project plan, managing a team, creating and managing project budgets, and presenting deliverables to a client.

  • Must have a current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

  • Ability to mobilize within 24-48 hours, commit to extended assignments in remote locations and disaster conditions.

  • Proven success as a disaster recovery consultant at the federal, state, county, or local levels of government.

  • Proven skills in business development and client/partnership management.

  • In this role you must be competent and fully proficient at operating a computer, finding files, editing documents in adobe and word, working with Excel spreadsheets, ability to effectively interface with applications in web browsers, working knowledge of saving, renaming, editing, organizing files and moving between iPhone and PC seamlessly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification

  • CEM certification

  • Masters in public administration or emergency management

  • Active FEMA Badge

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $114,000 - $169,290

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
