WSP USA Regional Executive Texas/Lousiana in Dallas, Texas

WSP in the US is seeking a Regional Executive to support our Texas/Louisiana geographic. The Regional Executive role drives growth across a geographic region and across all Business Lines with the objective of enabling WSP to be the preferred and trusted choice for clients, employees, and partners.

The Regional Executive report to the US Region President for high-level influence, accountability, and executive support. They speak to and network with each Business Line Executive as peers on a continual basis, and regularly interface with regional/local leaders and teams within their geography. They possess intimate knowledge of all WSP services and capabilities within their region for all Business Lines, and they advance opportunities to “join up” and expand services for clients. As senior leaders with industry visibility, the Regional Executives also “multi-hat” with contributions representing WSP in industry organizations, client account relationships, and specific company initiatives with executive impact.

Clients Pillar

  • The Regional Executive role is strategic, client-focused, and market-facing. The position acts as the primary representative for WSP USA in the Regional geography. They actively promote the company’s brand, values, and mission to clients, stakeholders, communities, and partners. The Regional Executive will have the following responsibilities within the Client Pillar.

Sales, Clients, and Brand Growth

  • Revenue Generation: Drive sales growth through effective market penetration and client acquisition. Cross-sell all applicable WSP services to our clients. Support our teams to include the full WSP consultancy in our pursuits.

  • Brand Expansion: Work with Strategic Growth Teams, each Business Line, and other resources to enhance brand visibility and recognition within the Region.

  • Client Program: Work with Client Care Leads to develop specific tactical plans for extending WSP services for key clients across all Business Lines. Serve as a catalyst for client coordination and cross-selling efforts across all Business Lines, in coordination with other Regional Leaders and client account leaders.

  • Client Feedback : Regularly meet with clients to get performance feedback and learn of improvement opportunities and future market drivers. Perform as PIC on key projects and WSP Executive Sponsor for select, strategic clients.

  • Celebration: Regularly communicate on new project awards, key project achievements, and client commendations/recognition within the Region.

Strategic Growth Vision and Direction

  • Monitor and advise on changes in funding sources, governmental policies, and regulations: Support the Business Lines and work with them to identify the opportunities/challenges for our clients and for WSP stemming from these changes. Deploy our unique expertise and perspective to create new solutions and value for clients based on these changes.

  • Regional Growth Plan : Lead development and performance monitoring of a Regional Annual Growth Plan that combines the growth strategies and plans of all Business Lines to establish a unified “full WSP” growth plan. Develop Region growth forecast in collaboration with Business Line Executives.

  • Targeted Growth Initiatives: Personally lead targeted growth initiatives within the Region. Growth initiatives may be tied to specific cities/locations, key clients, or key services. The targeted growth initiatives are intended to be high impact/high ROI efforts during the duration of the Strategic Planning cycle.

  • Strategic Pursuit Positioning: Identify and support large opportunities and major upcoming projects. Provide input to win strategies and capture plans. Advise Business Lines on actions to improve win probability. Bring an expanded view and integrated response to complex challenges (both strategic market trends and specific project pursuits) by leveraging our full suite of offerings across all WSP Business Lines and maximizing cross-selling opportunities. Work with Business Lines to identify and solidify teaming partnerships to increase win probability.

  • Develop and recommend M&A target list within the Region based on regional growth priorities and opportunities.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong ties with local government, industry associations, and key partners. Responsible for government relations and industry presence in the region (which associations to be part of, which conferences to attend/sponsor). Provide civic and industry leadership within the Region.

People & Culture Pillar

  • The Regional Executive Champions Employee Engagement byfostering a positive work culture and alignment with the brand’s values. They help knit together employees from each Business Line for common and shared WSP experience.

Expertise Pillar

  • The Regional Executive maintains full understanding of the technical expertise and resources within their Region. They capitalize on this knowledge in supporting the Expertise Pillar.

  • Leverage our broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings; maintains expert-level command and knowledge of technical experts across their Region within all Business Lines.

  • Work closely with the Business Lines to ensure strategic technical expertise is available.

  • Foster the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry.

  • Encourage, support, and promote the technical and professional development of all staff within WSP.

  • Demonstrate strong desire to learn, adapt to all Business Lines within region, and objectively support all Business Lines without bias.

Operational Excellence Pillar

  • Within Operational Excellence, the Regional Executive works with a team comprised of representatives from each of the Business Lines with mission to: 1) drive collective revenue growth and business expansion; and 2) provide all WSP employees common experience and value proposition. In addition to the client and growth objectives and activities listed above in the other pillars, the Regional Executive contributes to efforts to improve financial performance and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business, Finance, Planning, Public Policy, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • 17+ years of relevant post education experience in discipline, and in a management consulting or client advisory capacity.

  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability; persistent, and goal-oriented; able to effectively network across the organization at all levels (senior executive to Early Grad)

  • Strong influencing skills: ability to inform, define, and influence decision-makers based on facts and logic; ability to build consensus and rapidly resolve conflict in the interest of broader WSP. Collaborative, drives consensus

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to innovate and re-think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement.

  • Strong business acumen with an aptitude for driving results and outcomes.

  • Commitment to internal and external client service.

  • Understanding of the regional market within our industry.

  • Motivational; staff development mindset; excellent leadership/managerial and mentoring/teaching skills.

  • Highly organized; detail oriented; skilled with implementation/ logistics.

  • Enterprise business aptitude.

  • Experience with change management.
