WSP USA Vice President of Project Management in Jersey City, New Jersey

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Vice President-Project Management Administration and Technical Support for delivering Construction Services on Rail Infrastructure Projects in our Client's Journal Square - office. Your Impact

  • Provide assistance to PANYNJ Project Manager / or designee as directed

  • Coordinate the implementation of the program and the work performed by all of the program and/or project members, as required.

  • Conduct meetings with the project team and record attendance, prepare all minutes and agreements of meetings.

  • Follow-up with project stakeholders to ensure action items assigned are completed.

  • Prepare and maintain issues lists to keep track off open issue resolution and completion

  • Monitor all elements of the design development effort to meet the project’s approved scope, schedule and budget.

  • Coordinate preparation of study reports, construction cost estimates and preliminary and final contract documents.

  • Coordinate all elements of the contract document review process, including notifying all design development participants of the resolution of all comments.

  • Establish contract conditions and precautions and hours-of-work restrictions.

  • Establish through meetings with facility personnel staging restrictions/requirements based upon operational and maintenance constraints.

  • Coordinate the resolution of project related issues with facility operating and maintenance staff, including negotiating agreements on client requested changes.

  • Review studies, preliminary designs, and contract documents for conformance to approved scope and budget.

  • Prepare project documentation, correspondence and maintain project file.

  • Evaluate design consultant invoices for earned value and recommend payment.

  • Evaluate impact of changes on approved scope, schedule and budget and obtain approval for the change.

  • Perform additional duties as deemed necessary 

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing large and complex contracts, preferably greater than one million dollars in value.

  • Experience in managing procurement phase activities and coordinating/supporting stakeholder departments such as, Procurement, Law, Technology, and the line departments.

  • Experience with capital projects that involve design and construction elements including the monitoring and reporting of cost forecasts against budgets and the management of project schedules.

  • Familiarity with coordinating and supporting engagement with operating Line Departments (Engineering staff (including Quality Assurance, Construction and Project Delivery Leadership) and stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments.

  • Proficient in the use of software applications Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • This hire will be contingent upon client selection and successful background check.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Civil, Mechanical or Electrical project with aviation background is preferred

  • Experience with Agency Construction preferred.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $97,100 - $198,200

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
