WSP USA Construction Engineer in Las Vegas, Nevada

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Construction Engineer for our Las Vegas, Nevada office. Be involved in projects with our Las Vegas PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Must be knowledgeable of various client construction specifications and contract management.

  • Act as a point of contact between the client, project team and contractors.

  • Manage the construction management team, including sub-consultants.

  • Ensures the performance of assigned work complies with contractual requirements, specifications and special provisions

  • Perform or oversee field inspection, including preparing and reviewing daily inspection reports.

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the client, project team, and contractors.

  • Manage the construction management team, including sub-consultants.

  • Review and make recommendations for contractors' project schedules and non-conforming work

  • Analyze and negotiate contract change orders

  • Attends and may lead construction meetings with client and contractors

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering-related field

  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience on transportation, bridge or construction related projects

  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend contract documents

  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Valid drivers’ license

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in local municipalities and/or local DOT.

  • Background in construction management, architecture, or engineering fields.

  • Professional Engineering License or ability to receive licensure.

  • Familiarity with e-Builder

  • Roadway, highway or bridge construction inspection experience
