In this newly created role, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the strategy for internal communications across our UK&I operations. You will:

  • Design, develop and drive strategic internal communications campaigns and activities to deepen colleague engagement.

  • Manage a team of high quality, agile and motivated internal communications professionals to deliver targeted, timely and effective internal communications, aligned to business strategy.

  • Drive the content and channel strategy, aligned to our four strategic pillars.

  • Work closely with senior leaders throughout the business as an effective communications and engagement partner.

  • Support the planning and delivery of critical and sensitive business communications.

  • Identify and amplify external opportunities for colleague engagement.

  • Apply expertise to capture, evaluate and develop insight to drive continuous improvement.

  • Support and deputise for the Head of Internal Communications, as and when necessary.

  • Support the professional development of more junior members of the team.

YOUR TEAM

In this newly created role, you will be part of the Marcomms function for UK&I and will be connected to WSP’s network of communications and marketing professionals world-wide.

You’ll be working in a fast-paced, rewarding environment, and will play a central role in shaping and delivering some of WSP’s biggest programmes including the 2025-2027 Business Strategy.

You’ll be working as part of a trusted and valued Internal Communications team that embraces creativity and is constantly seeking new ideas and opportunities to engage and inspire colleagues.

  • Extensive knowledge of designing and developing effective communications and engagement strategies across the full range of face-to-face, digital, print and broadcast communication channels

  • Deep understanding of the diversity of audiences and the different strategies needed to reach them

  • Broad knowledge of external developments and emerging best practice in communications and engagement.

  • Experience working within a commercially driven organisation.

  • Proven experience in senior stakeholder engagement and management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience managing other Internal Communications professionals.

  • Sound communications judgement

  • Experience supporting I&D, sustainability and people teams would be advantageous.
