WSP USA Construction Manager in Los Angeles, California
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Manager for our LAX project office in Los Angeles CA. WSP has an active program management / construction management project at the LAX Airport in Los Angeles. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
As a member of the Program Management Office team, this position reports to the Program Manager. The Construction Manager coordinates with the Project Managers and Assistant Project Manager(s) to keep the project on time, on budget, within specification, and quality control plan.
The Construction Manager must have the knowledge and experience to manage large Construction Projects and/or Programs. The position requires a high degree of autonomy with little supervision, and the ability to collaborate with contractors, design team consultants, clients, and municipal stakeholders.
Your Impact
Overall management of the Construction team
Management of the CMR contract
Timely identification and analysis of Construction issues and make recommendations to resolve to the Program Manager
Prepare and support of the construction and development work plans for each project
Cost and scope analysis for Added Scope items
Assist in vendor selection, managing progress of contractors, reporting progress, processing change orders, developing and completing punch lists, project completion and reviewing close out documents
Compile, track, and transmit project related documents and maintain a project file system
Review and respond to RFIs
Assist in the review and timely processing of invoices
Management of cost control systems
Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flows, financial reports, and other financial projections
Preparation of Fund Request packages
Prepare Acquisition Packages for reimbursement
Create and maintain financial models that track and allocate costs
Prepare memos, reports, briefings, proposals, and other client deliverables that include spreadsheets, complex graphs, charts, and tables
Assist construction team with tracking and reporting of logistics plans, phasing plans and construction activities
Develop regular progress reports
Database administration
Assist with vendor insurance management
Assist with the preparation PowerPoint presentations
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
BA/BS Engineering, Architecture or Project Management
10 – 15 years’ experience in the Aviation and Construction industry
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Confident self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment
Attention to detail and organization while working ina fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and produce project deliverables
Ability to build and sustain relationships with team members, contractors, and clients
Skilled at building and sustaining relationships with all stakeholders
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to prioritize workload and deliverables
Understanding of the commercial aviation industry
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Compensation and Benefits:
WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
Expected Salary: $133,400 - $198,220 depending on experience level, location and other qualifications.
