This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating an opening for an Early Career GIS Analyst at our Louisville, KY office. This role offers a chance to engage with cutting-edge GIS technology to support projects focused on cultural resources, archaeology, and historic architecture. It’s a perfect opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with up to one year of experience who hold a degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

Your Impact

  • Engage in geographic and non-geographic data manipulation, management, and analysis.

  • Utilize GIS software to map cultural resources, and georeference historic maps and imagery.

  • Maintain and create GIS layers, adhere to standards, and process GNSS field data.

  • Produce high-quality maps and GIS analysis for a variety of engineering and environmental projects.

  • Maintain metadata and uphold best practices in system and data support.

  • Participate in team collaborations and independently manage assigned tasks to meet project deadlines.

  • Comply with WSP’s Code of Conduct, safety, and health policies.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or related field.

  • 0-1 years of relevant experience.

  • Proficiency in ESRI’s ArcGIS platform and familiarity with AutoCAD, Python, Visual Basic, Arcade, or SQL programming.

  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with data modeling, file scanning, and digitization.

  • Effective communication skills, capable of presenting ideas to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.

  • Ability to work independently under general supervision or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Online.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and programming languages such CSS, HTML, PHP, or JavaScript.

  • Experience with CAD software and data transformations.
