This Opportunity

WSP is currently searching for a Senior Construction Inspector to support projects in the West Palm Beach and or Miami offices. Candidate would join WSP’s Construction Management Services team focused on supporting infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects. This position would provide inspection support, technical guidance, and oversight to ensure construction compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents. Responsibilities involve performing and overseeing field inspections on various multi-site/phase construction projects of moderate to large scale, scope, and/or complexity, including placement of concrete, earthwork, roadway paving, buildings, structures, foundations, building materials, mechanical, and electrical installations. Generates and substantiates reports and documentation regarding construction, materials, integration, equipment, and operations. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, functionality, and safety. Experienced with South Florida Water Management District, United States Army Corps of Engineers, or Florida Department of Transportation construction projects is preferred.

Your Impact

  • Read and understand construction documents including drawings and specifications.

  • Monitor all phases of project construction.

  • Document and track on site observations, punch list items, and maintain master project files.

  • Work and communicate extensively with the project team (architects, engineers, general contractors, code consultants) in the development and execution of the construction plans.

  • Perform conflict resolution.

  • Provide field direction on typical coordination issues and documentation of all field directives.

  • Establish best practice methodologies in the effort to achieve the highest quality construction, while working within approved budgets and prescribed schedules.

  • Oversee construction QA/QC testing.

  • Responsible for the WSP construction documents with construction team.

  • Comfortable with working in sometimes remote locations.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 9+ years of construction experience performing site visits and inspections.

  • Experience working in high volume environment, multiple projects.

  • Proficiency with creating reports, Excel, and construction management software.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
