WSP is currently initiating a search for a Compensation Consultant. The following locations will be considered: Tampa, FL; Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA, Morristown, NJ or New York, NY.

Your Impact

  • Act as an advisor by providing consultations to Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners and business management regarding job evaluations, salary administration, pay strategy, annual merit planning and the resolution of compensation related issues.

  • Support with the planning and facilitation of the annual compensation review processes, working closely with HR Business Partners and other Compensation team members.

  • Assess job levels/grading based on the scope of responsibilities and evaluate against internal criteria.

  • Utilize external and internal data for job benchmarking and peer group analyses.

  • Conduct periodic modeling of salary structure ranges and budgets.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional HR teams to provide consultative expertise for industry trends and market competitiveness, and support for a variety of compensation projects and strategic initiatives.

  • Continually monitor pay equity among jobs ensuring WSP is fair and equitable in our pay practices.

  • Ensure compliance with FLSA, pay transparency and other compensation related legal requirements.

  • Utilize market research and internal analysis to recommend changes and improvements to existing programs, and leverage data to support recommendations.

  • Assist with developing modeling analysis for short-term incentive programs to determine cost impact and feasibility.

  • Support continuous activities related to frequent mergers and acquisitions.

  • May participate in projects/initiatives to develop and implement new compensation programs, processes, and policies.

  • Provide a continuous focus on improving processes and reporting.

  • Remain current on the latest compensation concepts, methodologies, and federal/state/local legislation.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Finance or a related business field or equivalent experience/combined education.

  • 3+ years of progressive post education compensation experience, preferably within the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry and/or large matrixed corporate environment.

  • Experience analyzing and administering a variety of compensation plans and programs including salary structures and incentive pay programs.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks, and analyze, synthesize and draw conclusions from data.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to prepare reports and presentations.

  • Expert level ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams). Must be able to use formulas, data format/sort/filter, vlookup and/or xlookup, and pivot tables in Excel.

  • Ability to build cross-functional relationships and coordinate with various stakeholders.

  • Highly capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an HR and non-HR audience.

  • Ability to collaboratively work with others such as HR Business Partners, Recruiters, HRIS analysts, and business leaders.

  • Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply learned subject matter and technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, and logical solution.

  • Ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • This is a professional role and as such work deadlines and work hours may extend beyond a typical workday.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Oracle preferred (but not required).

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.

Expected Salary: $70,000 - $90,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
