WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Fisheries Biologist for our Needham, MA office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Senior technical expert for instream flow issues

  • Review of adeqaucy of related studies to support NEPA analysis

  • Drafting NEPA analysis pertaining to instream flow for EIS on relicensing hydroelectric projects

  • Reviewing NEPA analysis related to other issues

  • Preparing developmental analysis text to support balancing calls regarding instream flow issues in the EIS

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience addressing instream flow issues and hydropower impact analysis

  • Master's Degree in environmental sciences or related field

  • Understanding of FERC hydropower licensing regulations and procedures and compliance with NEPA, Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Responsive team player with ability to work independently from home

  • Proficiency using Word and Excel
