WSP is currently initiating a search for a Sr. Electrical Superintendent for our Otisville, NY Field Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for an organized, highly motivated individual, capable of Construction Management and Inspection Services on Projects mainly involving electrical, electronics, electrical substations, high tension work, A/C utility service, controls and SCADA, security Controlled- Access and CCTV camera systems, fire alarm monitoring systems, fire suppression systems, building management systems, intercom systems, radio systems, microwave systems. Some mechanical, civil, structural and plumbing knowledge is beneficial.
Electrical Inspection- read and interpret plans and specifications and prepare written contract administration documentation, such as daily narratives (work reports), special inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.is responsible for the coordination of all Project Management activities related to design, procurement, construction and closeout of the project(s)
Identify potential extra work issues and keep Resident Engineer advised of issues.
Prepare estimates of extra work. Prepare related sketches and documentation. Review plans for constructability and prepare comments.
Review contractor payment requests and recommend reasonableness to the Resident Engineer. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written. Verbal communication includes with Resident Engineer, relative peer staff and facility staff both in person and via electronic communication.
Firm knowledge of the latest National Electric Code and testing criteria for all types of electrical systems.
Experience working in restricted areas and adhering to associated protocols a plus.

Minimum of 12 years of experience in inspecting construction work varied in size (projects ranging from $500K to $5 million plus) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift).
Firm knowledge of the latest National Electric Code
Must Have experince in High Voltage Systems
Trained in minimum OSHA 30 hour construction safety, and fall protection, confined space and permit required confined space entry.
Certification in Work Zone Safety
Ability to stay late or come in early as needed. Night and weekend shifts may be required.
Ability to Pass a Background Check
Valid Driver's license required.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request. " should be included as a basic qualification.
PE License is desired.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is desired.
CEI or IAEI Electrical Inspection Certificate is desired.
