WSP is currently initiating a search for a Rail Project Manager for our Orange, CA office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage transit and rail projects as a discipline lead, including contract administration and contract supervision

  • Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute projects on time and on budget

  • Assist with supporting business improvement and growth initiatives, providing effective leadership and change management to engage staff.

  • Liaising with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies,and major project stakeholders, and contractors.

  • Maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as, other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers.

  • Lead staff development which includes: mentoring, training, coaching and professional development.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 12 years’ major transportation project experience including rail and transit project design experience.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering

  • Proven experience working and coordinating with multi disciplinary teams to achieve a coordinated design.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of a rail transit & systems project delivery: conceptual, preliminary and final design, design support during construction, testing and commissioning, and rail activiation.

  • Must be comfortable with overall project accountability, change management, schedule and scope management.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and be detailed orientated.

  • Organizational skills to prioritize and manage a diverse workload.

  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in co-located project offices.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of CADD platforms and their use in the development of rail & transit designs including but not limited to; AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRail Designer.

  • Technical writing experience as applied in the development of technical specifications and reports for rail and transit projects.

  • Ability to provide support to transit and rail marketing and sales programs in accordance with business unit objectives.

  • Ability to serve as Pursuit Manager for transit and rail opportunities.

  • California Professional Engineering Registration.
