Be involved in multimodal transportation projects with our Transit and Rail Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Our Orlando, FL office is seeking Transit Planner/Engineer to support the Transit & Rail group. This position reports to the supervising planner of the Bus Rapid Transit Team, within WSP’s Transit & Rail Technical Excellence Center. This candidate should be enthusiastic and self-motivated and will be responsible for technical multi-modal work with an emphasis on public transit projects including project development, design, public involvement, operating scenarios, bus operations and geographic analysis. The major projects include various multimodal planning and design activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and analysis

  • Report writing for alternatives analysis, NEPA documents and various studies

  • CADD drafting

  • Sketchup graphics

  • GIS analysis

  • Developing presentation materials

  • Public outreach including mailing lists, presentations, and outreach materials

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience

  • Must possess an interest in multimodal related projects and systems such as Bus Rapid Transit, Automated Vehicles, complete streets, Transit Oriented Development, systems planning, etc.

  • Completed a B.S. or Masters in Urban Planning, Civil or Architectural Engineering or related degree from an accredited program

  • Proficient in Arcview/GIS software

  • Proficiency with MS Office software

  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite software a plus

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AICP or EI certification a plus
