This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector for our Tempe, AZ office. Be involved in projects with our PM/CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
The Construction Inspector will be working on various transportation construction projects throughout the State of Arizona. Assignments vary from small municipal projects to large multimillion-dollar highway, airport, and light rail projects. Projects are in the metro areas and in variousareasofArizona. Potential to see the entire state.
Your Impact
Create diaries and back check quantities.
Daily interaction with contractor foreman and supervisors.
Read and interpret project plans and specifications, monitor and document contractor activities for compliance with project documents.
On site material soils, concrete, asphaltic concrete inspection including measuring, calculating, and documenting quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Transportation Construction Industry
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Take construction related certification exams within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong Materials and or Survey Background
Previous Inspection experience with transportation projects
National Institute for Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET) Certification
Experience with ADOT, MCDOT and MAG based agencies
American Concrete Institute (ACI) certified
Arizona Technical Testing Institute (ATTI) Certification or Equivalent
Erosion Control Certification
American Traffic Safety Services Association Supervisor (ATTSA)
