WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transportation Construction Inspector for our Pittsburgh office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide field measurements and reports for payment quantities and changes in the work

  • Reads and interprets drawings and specifications

  • Inspect and document construction activities under clients policies and procedures

  • Observe general job safety practices and enforce contractor's safety plan

  • Comply with client policies and procedures for inspection of work under contract

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent with math background

  • 7 years experience or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field

  • Experience with PennDOT, PA Turnpike, Allegheny County and/or Port Authority of Allegheny County

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures .

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with public clients

  • NECEPT Bituminous and/or NECEPT Concrete Field Technician certifications

  • NICET certification or BS in Civil Engineering or related field

  • Experience with Port Authority of Allegheny County or Allegheny County Airport Authority
