This Opportunity

WSP currently has an opportunity available for an Assistant Civil 3D Designer in the Redmond, Washington office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team NW Remediation Practice and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. The successful candidate will have one to five years of professional experience and a very strong background in environmental data management and analysis. Proficiency of pertinent software identified below is strongly desired.

Under direct supervision, provides technical design and CADD support on projects to produce designs and specifications to be used for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines. Tasks may include assisting and receiving training in developing skills with CADD design on basic projects. Generates accurate and concise design phase deliverables regarding assigned aspects of the project. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality.

Your Impact

  • Work closely with the various civil and ground engineering disciplines in providing engineering 2D and 3D drafting services, utilizing AutoCAD software(s), including Civil 3D.

  • Prepare engineering plans, profiles, sections, and details, for design, bid, construction, and as constructed drawing sets; and figures for proposals, reports, and presentations.

  • Collect, compile, analyze and process data from surveys and site work to support drafting and design activities.

  • Modify existing drawing packages and develop drawing packages (plans, profiles, sections and details, etc.) associated with civil earthworks, mine infrastructure (tailings, heap leach pad, waste rock stockpile design), storm-water and surface-water controls, groundwater science, landfill design and remediation, and civil design for power sector and water treatment facilities, as directed by the project engineer.

  • Ability to produce high quality technical and professional deliverables.

  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine appropriate solution.

  • Possess a sound understanding of project expectations, role, available tools and resources, networks, workflow, scope, and budget.

  • Coordinate on projects with other disciplines and communicate closely with project team member regarding progress and outstanding tasks/issues.

  • Adhere to WSP USA quality Assurance Policies/Procedures, CADD protocol, as well as client standards and requirements.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience.

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D grading design and plan production.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP"s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or Technical School Certificate in Drafting/Design or Engineering.

  • Developed experience in technical civil engineering and associated disciplines.

Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $48,600 - $61,500
