WSP is currently initiating a search for a Assistant Civil/Coastal Engineer for our Portland, Oregon/Multnomah office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist and support design teams in the execution of projects;
Provide technical input during various stages of project, including preliminary design, final design and contract documentation including cost estimates and specifications;
Discuss and propose solutions to technical issues;
Maintain positive team relationships;
Assist and coordinate with key staff across disciplines (i.e. drainage, structures) as required

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program
1 year or less post graduate work experience
Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills
Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
Hands-on experience with roadway design software such as Microstation or Autocad including working knowledge of Geopak software
E.I.T. Certification or Intention to obtain such when available
Experience with roadway design through internships
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
