WSP USA is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer / Project Manager in our Raleigh, North Carolina location to support Highway/Roadway design projects. This position will provide the opportunity to work on challenging projects in North Carolina and prominent infrastructure projects nationwide, ranging from rural arterial resurfacing to urban interchange reconstruction. This position is an excellent opportunity to continue to enhance design skills and build relationships within WSP as well as with a large number of clients around the state. The successful candidate must be goal-oriented and able to meet challenging design and schedule requirements.

Position Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following tasks:

  • Leading a Civil/Highway Design team

  • Leading projects with all aspects of Transportation Design from conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design

  • Coordinating with other design disciplines

  • Preparing plans, specifications, and bid packages

  • Ensuring that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements

  • Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing the work of Staff-level Engineers.

  • Providing Training to Staff-level Engineers

  • Directing client interaction

  • Support business development initiatives

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ experiencein the design and preparation of construction contract documents for highways.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in NC, or the ability to obtain one within six months.

  • Proficiencies and relevant experience in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Proficiencies and relevant experience in Microstation and Geopak Software.

  • Familiarity with AASHTO Design Guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NCDOT experience a plus.
