WSP is currently initiating a search for a Microsoft Construction Administration Project Lead for our San Antonio, TX office.

Job Description

  • Act as liaison between AE discipline leads/engineers and the GC

  • Act as liaison between client design team and the GC

  • Lead AE design team for Contractor Bid Support

  • Review contract documents, drawings and specifications with the GC as needed to ensure a complete understanding of document content, design intent, installation and end-state requirements

  • Attend meetings as the AE representative, and when requested, as the client’s Design Manager’s representative. Responsible for taking notes and aggregating notes from remainder of the team. Develop agendas and coordinate the information needs of the technical team. Lead meetings that are design and technical content 3 1-hr. /week.

  • Coordinate submittal packages for completeness and adherence to design

  • Meet with the GC to facilitate the answering of RFIs and their understanding of the design/response

  • Input deficiencies into the clients system, or coordinating with onsite QA team to input deficiencies in real-time, approving any deficiency resolution

  • Review content and compiled O&M manuals as available; providing comments on content

  • Ensure RFI and submittal responses occur within allotted durations. Track the status and completing weekly reports. CA lead shall have general knowledge of the design and construction process so they can provide high level review of these items to validate the information is appropriate for technical lead involvement.

  • Engage the AE discipline engineers when needed and facilitate answering RFIs, review of submittals, and resolution of field issues by the discipline engineers when necessary.

  • Coordinate the trips necessary by the other the AE discipline leads. Provide general field observations to inform on general construction progress.

  • Weekly status reporting on:

  • Key design deliveries/activities completed during the current period as well as key upcoming/in progress design deliveries/activities

  • Open issues/defects

  • Current permitting schedule and status

  • Current design revision schedule and status

  • Construction closeout schedule and status – e.g., O&M and redline documents, punchlist progress, etc.

  • 6 week lookahead for AE activities

  • Coordinate safety protocols with GC and Client. Ensure AE team has performed required activities prior to visiting the site.

Required Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience

  • 7 to 10 years of experience

  • Essential license, as applicable

  • Enhancing credentials and certifications

  • Ability to apply advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex material and provide resolution in alignment with requirements and business objectives

  • Experience with using required technical software and applications

  • Excellent communication and written skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

  • Ability to work effectively in teams

  • Ability to interact well with others as well as develop and contribute to high quality technical and professional deliverables on projects and proposals

  • Knowledge of national, state and local policies and plans related to vehicle technology deployment

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Member of and actively participates local professional practice organization including attending meetings/lectures

  • Participation in conference program with panels, poster sessions, papers and presentations

  • Post Graduate Education (Graduate Level Courses, Masters, Ph.D.)

  • Proficient is Revit
