WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector/Office Engineer for our San Bernardino, California office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret State and local agency project plans and specifications, including Caltrans Standards

  • Monitor construction for compliance with project documents

  • Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures

  • Inspect highway road and bridge construction

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • 5 years of inspection experience in highway/bridge/public works/transit OR 5 years of experience in the highway/public works/transit/aviation sector working for a contractor or public agency OR Engineering or Construction Management Degree and 1 year of experience in the highway/bridge /public works/transit/ (any type of position).

  • Ability to travel to construction sites

  • Valid California Driver’s License

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Caltrans procedures is desirable

  • Knowledge and experience working on highway projects

  • Knowledge and experience with the Greenbook and Caltrans standards
