WSP USA Early Career Electrical Engineer in Seattle, Washington

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Electrical Engineer for our Seattle, Washington office. Be involved in projects with our Property and Building team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

You will work with a team of experienced engineers with great mentorship skills and exciting projects in the field of building design and construction. Your peers will include professionals from our HVAC, Plumbing, Lighting, Fire Protection, Building Technology, and Sustainability teams. In this role, you will help to design and document electrical systems for a wide variety of project types across many market sectors. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge, skills, and responsibilities in engineering, project management, and client engagement while you learn about our industry.

Your Impact

  • Under the supervision of a senior engineer, you will perform basic electrical engineering design tasks for power systems, electrical distribution, indoor/outdoor lighting, grounding, and lightning protection, as well as systems such as communications, access control, security, IT, and fire alarm systems.

  • Learn the fundamental requirements of building codes and standards as they relate to electrical systems design.

  • Develop familiarity and skill with software modeling applications such as Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Complete training on assigned tasks.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree.

  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.

  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.

  • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training Certification.

  • Prior internship related to building design, construction, and/or electrical engineering design.#LI-JL1
