WSP USA Early Career Electrical Engineer in Seattle, Washington

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Early Career Electrical Engineer in our Seattle office. Be involved in projects with our NW Pacific Power and Energy Team and be a part of a rapidly expanding group that provides trusted advisors and engineer of record services to clients in the energy sector throughout the western United States.

This Opportunity

We are currently seeking recently graduated Electrical Engineers who are eager to contribute to electrification projects that will shape the future of transportation and infrastructure. As an Electrical Engineer specializing in electrification projects, you will play a key role in designing and implementing solutions for bus electrification, port electrification, and trucking electrification initiatives. You will work closely with our team of experienced engineers and industry experts to develop innovative electrical systems that support the transition to clean energy and sustainable transportation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with project teams to design and develop electrical systems for bus electrification, port electrification, and trucking electrification projects.

  2. Support feasibility studies and engineering analyses to assess the technical and economic viability of electrification solutions.

  3. Assist senior engineers in creating detailed electrical designs, including power distribution systems and charging infrastructure, in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  4. Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met and objectives are achieved.

  5. Perform technical evaluations of electrical equipment and components to ensure compatibility and reliability.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or closely related discipline.

2.0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.

  1. Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.

  2. Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design.

  3. Familiar with relevant electrical codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

  2. Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

  3. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and electrical design tools.

  4. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electrical systems and infrastructure.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $56,300-$92,800

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
