WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our Seattle, Washington office .
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform design tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design or engineering techniques and procedures
Ensure that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
Electrical calculations including electrical loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, selective coordination
Lighting circuiting and controls
Facility electrical service and power distribution design for 480/277, 120/208, and 120/240 volt classifications
Grounding design including system and equipment grounding
Motor control center (MCC) design including layouts, sizing, and motor starter selection
Standby and emergency power system design including generator and uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
Responsible for coordination with other design disciplines, including civil, structures, hydraulics/drainage, storm water, traffic, utilities, right of way

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited program
Five (5) years of electrical engineering experience
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation Inroads
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited program
EIT or PE registration, or ability to receive within 6 months
Experience in control system design or evaluation with knowledge of ladder logic, relays, limit switches and building systems
Communication design experience, including fiber optic and CAT 5/6 hardware/software application and configuration
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design experience
Working knowledge of NFPA 130 Standard for Fixed Guideway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems and or NFPA 502 Standard for Road Tunnels, Bridges, and Other Limited Access Highways
