This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Environmental Specialist for our Tallahassee office. This position is a contract-dedicated position supporting a client-specific program. Be involved in site contamination cleanup projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

The successful candidate will facilitate assessment and cleanup of petroleum contaminated sites to protect groundwater in Florida.

  • Prioritize tasks, track project deliverables and deadlines and monitor progress of site assessment and remediation projects for petroleum contaminated sites in Florida.

  • Verify investigation data in technical reports, maps and summary tables.

  • Prepare site specific scopes of work for procurement of site assessment and remediation services.

  • Prepare written approvals and comments for project reports and deliverables.

  • Coordinate with team members for technical decisions and approval of deliverables.

  • Communicate effectively in meetings and video calls with property owners, consultants and regulatory professionals.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related life sciences field.

  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience in environmental protection, regulation or health

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with site contamination assessment, remediation or groundwater monitoring.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize a complicated work load to meet established deadlines and metrics.
