WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Design Support Specialist for our Tampa, Florida location with experience in transportation infrastructure and drainage systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees varied and highly complex CADD work
Coordinates multiple CADD users and software/hardware integration
Writes procedures and distributes these to other CADD users
Plans and coordinates with IT on implementation strategies for software deployment
Provides competency in computer assisted drafting to support development, planning, transportation or other technical services
Be responsible for design tasks of large projects under engineer-in-charge
Provide oversight in the training of new staff
Maintains competency in new technologies

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma
15+ years of design support and CADD experience in transportation infrastructure and drainage systems
Proficient in MicroStation and GEOPAK design software
FDOT Design and CADD Production Experience using FDOT Standard Plans, FDOT Design Manual, and other FDOT applicable criteria.
Experience in delivering FDOT Plans, Specifications, & Estimates on Work Program Projects (Experience must include pay item and quantity development, TRNS*PORT software, Electronic Review and Comment (ERC) system, and CADD Compliancy software such as FDOT File Checker)
Must be self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a team environment
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ProjectWise
Experience with Bentley's Open Roads Designer (ORD) Connect Edition
Experience in completing and reviewing Utility Work Schedules and the development of Utility Conflict Matrices for minor and major transportation construction projects
Experience delivering Local Agency Program (LAP) for both FDOT and Local Agencies throughout the Tampa Bay Area
