WSP USA Inspector NICET II in Valhalla, New York

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Inspector (NICET II) for our New York City field office..

Your Impact

  • Provide inspection service for various construction operations.

  • Perform field tests of construction materials.

  • Preparation of daily reports.

  • Assist field staff with calculations and preparation of contract payments.

  • Assist field staff with checking contractor payrolls and other submissions.

  • Exhibit basic knowledge of current field inspection practices.

  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, scientists, engineers, inspectors, project control, and technicians on assigned inspection phases, checks, and tasks.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant post education experience in discipline highway, bridge or other civil engineering related construction inspection.

  • Valid state driver’s license.

  • Familiar with construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods and techniques.

  • Familiar with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

  • Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.

  • Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies.

  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.

  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree

  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification

  • NICET II or equivalent

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.

Expected Salary: $44,000 - $79,200

WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
