WSP USA Junior CADD Technician in Vancouver, Washington
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Engineering CADD Technician in Computer Aided Drafting & Detailing (CADD) for our Portland, OR office . The following locations will also be considered: Vancouver, WA, Tacoma, WA, and Seattle, WA . WSP USA Operates with a Hybrid-Model Workplace. Be involved in projects with our Bridge Engineering Team , focused on structural transportation (Bridges, Walls, Culverts, etc.) with support for civil engineering projects and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
The selected candidate will take part in providing local technical design and CADD support on projects to produce designs and specifications to be used for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines. Tasks may include generating CADD designs on various assigned aspects of projects of basic to moderate scale and/or complexity. This individual will generate accurate and concise design phase deliverables including external reference files and sheets for plans and profiles, models, sections and details and ensure that their responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry and client standards for design, accuracy, and functionality.
Your Impact
Prepare preliminary and final CADD construction drawings for highway, roadway, transit, environmental, structural and utility improvement projects.
Prepare preliminary and final right-of-way, planning, or other technical drawings.
Perform basic geometry and quantity calculations.
Review of others’ work and quality checks.
Learn basic principles of Bridge Engineering and construction to communicate intent of drawings and collaborate with engineers for needed design revisions, based on constructability, congestion, and or standard practices.
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma.
One of the of the following training or work experience:
(1) year of formal CADD training; CADD Certification, or
Minimum of two (2) years of CADD experience.
AutoCAD/Civil 3D
Bentley/MicroStation InRoads
Microsoft Products
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Experience with at least one of the following CAD software packages; ability to learn and utilize all the following in their latest versions:

Strong organizational skills.
Team player; capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.

Authorization to work in the United States at the start of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Actively enrolled in or graduated from an accredited college/Technical School for CADD, or related program.
Experience with the following CAD software packages; ability to learn and utilize all the following in their latest versions:
Bentley OpenRoads/Open Bridge Modeler/CONNECT
BIM Software/Revit.
ProjectWise,
Bluebeam Revu
Experience with the following computer software packages; ability to learn and utilize all the following in their latest versions:
Demonstrated interest in CADD software development, BIM, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work, industry improvements, and project needs.
Knowledge of general civil, structural, and engineering design and construction documents with experience working in Transportation market, specifically in bridge related infrastructure.
Understand and interpret topographic survey and base mapping including coordinates, elevations, contours, utility symbols, roadway symbols, etc.
Experience in engineering discipline.

Compensation:
Expected Salary $40,000 - $66,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
